Nancy K. Swan

With hearts filled with gratitude for the time we shared and sorrow for this great loss, we announce the passing of our beloved mother. Surrounded by her family, Nancy Swan, age 92, passed away on April 8, 2026 at Angels Grace in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She was born on May 17, 1933 at home in Eagle, Wisconsin to Roy and Kathryn Piper.

Nancy spent her early childhood on the family farm in North Prairie, Wisconsin. She attended and graduated from Waukesha High School. Following high school, Nancy attended Whitewater College in their teacher program.

On August 23, 1952, Nancy married “the love of her life” Gerald Swan, son of Harold & Clara Swan longtime residents of Mukwonago. Nancy was a full-time homemaker where she was famous for her homemade chocolate chip cookies and clover leaf dinner rolls. Once her kids were grown, she worked at St. James School as the school secretary for 12 years.

Nancy and Jerry lived on the farm until 1959 at which time they built a home in the village of Mukwonago which is still her current address. Jerry passed away in 2007 and they were married for 56 years. Nancy was a member of St. James Catholic church.

Nancy was known for her kindness, generosity, engaging smile and love for birds and wildlife. She loved playing cards and games with her neighborhood group (Janet, Sue & Martha). She always scheduled her Monday’s with the Seniors playing Euchre or 500. She treasured her time with Grandkids and Great Grandkids to play spoons, Uno, Garbage, Golf, etc at her kitchen table.

Nancy is survived by 2 sons, Richard “Rick” (Martha) Swan and Dennis (Wendy) Swan. One Daughter Linda Wendorf. A sister Mary (Mike) Marconi. Plus 8 Grandchildren Ryan Swan, Jamie (Erik) Huebschen, Jeff (Danielle) Swan, Lindsey (Joe) VanMaldegiam, Jennifer (Don) Kujawa, Joe (Laura) Swan, Becca Wendorf, Tom (Kayla Kroll) Swan. Plus 12 Great Grandchildren Olivia Huebschen, Amelia Huebschen, Wyatt Kujawa, Logan Kujawa, Tyler Kujawa, Jack Swan, Noah Swan, Claire Swan, Grayson VanMaldegiam, Lucas VanMaldegiam, Levi Swan, Cole Swan. Nancy also cherished her nieces, nephews and the wonderful neighbors and friends that helped her often.

In addition to Nancy’s parents Roy & Kathryn, she was preceded in death by brother Jerry (Nola) Piper, sister Pat (Greg) Piette, brother-in-law Don (Gladys) Swan, sister-in-law Betty (Don) Graf.

We would like to thank the entire ProHealthCare Hospice team, nurses (Pam & Katie), social worker (Barth), CNA’s (Shayla & Faith) and music therapist (Rory) for their kindness & care with our mother. Additional thanks to the entire staff at Angel’s Grace for their comfort and care. They always brought a smile to her face during their visits.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 10am followed by a service at noon at St. James the Less Catholic Church 830 East Veterans Way in Mukwonago (HWY NN).

A burial will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery.
