Born to Eternal Life on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the age of 88. Beloved brother of Robert (the late Judith) La Monte. Loving uncle of Joseph (Janine), Stephen (Candace) and Gary (Sandra) La Monte. Further survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, many friends including Gary Jaeschke, and colleagues of the Milwaukee Police Department. Frank is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Barbara La Monte.

Frank served the City of Milwaukee with distinction for over three decades, beginning his career with the Milwaukee Police Department in 1965 and retiring as a seasoned detective in 1996. His unwavering sense of duty extended beyond the force as a proud veteran and active member of the American Legion Post 416 in Greendale. Whether walking a beat or investigating complex cases, Frank was known by his colleagues for his toughness and his steadfast loyalty to the badge.

Outside of his professional life, Frank’s heart belonged to the racetrack. He cherished his annual trips to the Michigan International Speedway, where he spent countless hours in the stands with his brother, Robert, and his beloved nephews. His passion for motorsports was more than just a hobby; as a co-owner of a stock car at Slinger Speedway, he took immense pride in supporting his nephew’s journey to a Super Late Model championship. Frank’s Sunday nights under the lights of Slinger, surrounded by the roar of engines and the company of family, were the highlights of his retirement. He will be deeply missed by his family, his fellow officers, and the racing community he loved so dearly.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 17 from 11AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:30PM at Schmidt & Bartelt – Menomonee Falls; N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. Private entombment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

(Menomonee Ave is under construction and the funeral home main entrance is open for traffic coming westbound from Appleton Ave. but not east bound. There are two other entrances to the Funeral Home. One is on the east side off of Shady Lane and the other is on the southwest side off of Town Hall Rd.)
