Larry Wagner of Sussex found Peace on May 5, 2026 surrounded by his family, at the age of 74.  Beloved husband for 50 years to Linda.  Loving father of Joe (Ruth) Wagner and Laura (Erik) von Asten. Proud Paka and Grandpa of Carson, Nathaniel, Aaron, Kathryn, Lee Wagner and Kayla, Vylah, Savannah VonAsten.

Dear brother of Jeanine (Jeff) Weber, Sandra Wagner, Patrice (George) Schiller, Sharon Koch, sister-in-law Gwen Wagner and brother-in-law Robert Monday. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Caroline; his aunt Rose Karl; In laws Robert and Evelyn Weber; sisters Judith Monday and Susan Wagner; and brother Tom Wagner.

Larry was a retired Tool and Die Maker and volunteer Sussex Fire Department Lieutenant, selflessly giving his time to take care of his community.

Larry’s greatest joy in life was his wife, children, son and daughter in laws, and grandchildren: taking any opportunity he had to make memories and spoil them. After his family, Larry found joy in spending time at the family cabin, riding mopeds, fishing, hunting, and relaxing by the lake. Larry loved the outdoors and spent hours enjoying the gardens Linda perfected for him.

Although he was allergic, Larry loved to fish with his brother, children, and grandchildren. Everyone who fished with Larry enjoyed having to take his fish off the hook, especially when he caught the biggest one. His quick wit and love of laughter brought happiness to all of those who love him. His devotion to his family and friends was apparent in all he did. He always made sure that all were successful, happy, and always knew they were loved by him. His generosity was unmatched and his legacy will continue for years to come. Larry will be deeply missed by anyone who has the pleasure of knowing him.

Funeral services for Larry will be held on May 30th at the Schmidt Bartelt Funeral Home Sussex. The visitation will begin at 10:00am and go until 12:45 pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm.
