Passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. Age 84 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Sofio, her grandson Tristan Sofio, her parents Adolph and Laura Sandquist, her in-laws Joseph P. and Virginia Sofio, and her brother-in-law Richard Sofio. Loving mom of Michael. Beloved sister of Gretchen (Charles) Golembeski and the late Barbara (the late Gene) BonGiovanni. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Lora graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, MI in 1960. She then moved to the Milwaukee area for work. She worked at St. Amelian for over 30 years. Lora and Joe spent a few years in Germany during Joe's time in the service. They then made their home in Menomonee Falls for the rest of their lives. They were longtime members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls where they organized and spent a lot of time putting on the appreciation dinners at the church. Lora enjoyed lunches with her longtime friends and co-workers. She enjoyed playing sheepshead, craft fairs with friends, bowling, nature, and her sister vacations traveling all over the country. She was also a big Brewers and Packers fan. Lora was also the organizer of the family NASCAR weekends in Las Vegas. "To Lora, family and friends were very important and she will be greatly missed."

Visitation for Lora will be held on Monday August 3, 2026, at Wisconsin Memorial Park (Chapel of the Chimes), 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, WI from 1 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 2 PM. Burial will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial to Alzheimer's, Dementia, or Cancer research of your choice would be appreciated.
