Roger Robert Moesch passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the age of 92. Jase was born in Bonduel, Wisconsin, on July 11, 1934, the son of Elroy F. and Selma (Krause) Moesch. He grew up in Shawano and graduated from Shawano High School with the class of 1953.

Jase was married to his beloved first wife, Betty, for 36 years until her passing from cancer. Later in life, Jase found love again and was blessed with 25 wonderful years of marriage to Nan. Jase built a life filled with family, faith, laughter, and countless memories.

Jase worked a variety of manual labor and construction jobs throughout his early working years before eventually becoming a successful business owner. For more than 20 years, he and his partner and dear friend, Jim Lehrmann, owned and operated Lehrmann Moesch Construction, Co. The company designed and built many local commercial buildings. Jase was the man who ran the worksites, where his incredible work ethic, attention to detail, and integrity were evident in everything he did. He took great pride in doing things the right way and could always be counted on to give his best. His work was important to him, but the friendships he made along the way were just as meaningful.

Jase's Christian faith was a central part of his life. He was especially active at Covenant Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, where he served on the Stewardship Committee and regularly counted the church's offerings with Betty. In his later years, when he was no longer able to attend church regularly, Jase faithfully watched church every Sunday. He read Scripture with Nan each day and regularly received Holy Communion from her. His faith was not simply something he talked about—it was an important part of how he lived his life. Jase was a strong Christian man who trusted in Jesus and looked forward to the promise of eternal life.

Jase enjoyed many things, but few brought him more happiness than being with his family. He loved hunting on his land in Cecil, especially with family. He enjoyed fishing and following Wisconsin sports, proudly cheering for the Brewers, Packers, Bucks, and Badgers. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sporting events and was always interested in what was happening in their lives. He also loved going out to eat with family and friends and could turn an ordinary meal into an opportunity for conversation, laughter, and another story.

Jase was athletic in his younger years and remained active and engaged throughout his life. He was strong-willed, generous, hardworking, wise, and deeply loyal to his family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an endless supply of funny sayings and observations. Anyone who spent much time with Jase probably heard some version of “a dumb head and the whole body suffers,” “a fool and his gold are soon parted,” or

simply “horse a piece.” Some of his sayings were a little more appropriate than others, but that was Jase—and those who knew him will smile when they hear them again.

Jase was also a great friend. He made a point of calling and talking to people and stayed connected to family, friends, and extended family throughout his life. He genuinely cared about people and was never too busy to check in. His generosity, wisdom, humor, and willingness to work hard were qualities that people could depend on. Most of all, Jase loved his family. Being surrounded by the people he loved was where he was happiest.

Jase is survived by his wife, Nan; his children, Steve Moesch, Jamie (Michael) Dorn, Lori (David) Gnacinski, and Jason (Suanne) Moesch. He is also survived by Nan's children, Craig (Mary) Hernikl, Julie (Mark) Mertzig, and David (Patricia) Hernikl. Jase was blessed to have a large and loving family and was proud of each of them.

He is further survived by his grandchildren, Brendon (Carla) Dorn, Kyler Dorn, Kami Dorn, Jacy Gnacinski, Hannah Moesch, Leah Moesch, and Nan's grandchildren, Taylor (Erin), Cole (Molly), Freddie, Sara (Andrew), Rachel (Troy), and Rebecca (Nick). He was also a proud great-grandfather to Auggie, Freddy, and Nan's great-grandchildren, Oliver, Oakley, Archer, Keni, and Logan.

Jase is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, many of whom remained an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; his parents, Elroy and Selma (Krause) Moesch; and his siblings, Harley (Blanche) Krause, Wally (Ginny) Moesch, Delores (Auggie) Denny, Arbutus (Leroy) Olson, and brother and best friend Duke (Mitzi) Moesch.

Jase's family will remember him as a man who worked hard, loved deeply, laughed often, stood firmly on his faith, and never stopped caring about the people around him. He built buildings during his working years, but his greatest legacy was the family, friendships, faith, and memories he built throughout his 92 years. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17937 Menomonee Avenue, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. A private burial for Jase will be held at Lisbon Central Cemetery in Sussex, Wisconsin.
