James C. Haertel age 82 years of the Village of Lac la Belle, passed away Thursday June 2, 2011 at AngelsGrace Hospice. James was born Oct. 11, 1928 in Milwaukee to Carl and Marie(Schmidt) Haertel. He married Gertrude Georgi in May 1961. She preceded him in death. Jim was a foundry foreman at the Falk Corp. He was an artist and wood carver. Jim attended Marquette University and the Layton School of Art. James is survived by his sisters; Marilyn (Al) Arndt of Wauwatosa, Jane (Dale) Tremaine of Oconomowoc and Anne (Sylvester) Weyker of Belgium, WI. and his sister-in-law Janyce Haertel of Milwaukee. Step brother of Lucille (Earl) Piber of Oconomowoc. Also survived by a special friend Joseph Heinecke of Ixonia, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his brother John and special friend Diana Boettcher. Friends may visit Thursday, June 9th from 4:00pm until time of funeral mass at 6:00pm all at St. Jerome Catholic Church 995 S. Silver Lake St. Oconomowoc. Final rest St. Jerome Cemetery. Memorials to the Redemptorist Fathers or the church appreciated.
