I was so sorry to read about Al's passing. It is never easy to lose an important link to the family. I remember the Czarnecki's from my childhood. We were all members of the St. Mary's family. Those were the days that everyone knew everyone and their families. Again, my condolences to the entire family.

Thoughts and prayers to your family at this challenging time. I will not be able to attend the memorial in the Falls but hope you all know that Alan touched many lives during his years.

I had the pleasure of going to grade school with Alan, and playing years of basketball for the St. Mary's Warriors. Alan was the point guard on a scrappy, undersized team - and was recognized for his leadership with the "Spirit Award" after his 8th grade year.

George and Coreen were part of the parent crew that carpooled us to countless practices and games over our 6th, 7th and 8th grade years.

While I moved away after high school and lost touch, Alan's name lives on in my children's lives from countless references, and teasing as we watched other point guards I have coached and witnessed as "He is no Alan Czarnecki" My grown children, while never meeting Alan, could still to this day tell you the point guard on the Warriors!

I hope you know that I join the celebration of his life, his spirit...and yes, his sense of humor!

Warmest regards,
Tim McMenamin
