June 18, 1944 - October 12, 2017. Age 73 years.

To our beloved Al of Mequon, Wisconsin who left this Earth on Thursday October 12th.  He was relieved of his pain and hardship that may have diminished his quality of life, but never his Spirit – a Spirit that radiated kindness and touched everyone he met.  Al was a steward of the land, a caretaker for others, and a man who loved his Family more than anything. 

Al was at his happiest when he was with his family and in his yard tending to his trees & wildflowers, watching for bluebirds, and just enjoying nature all around him.

In his younger years growing up on the south side of Chicago, Al discovered sports and was a remarkable athlete – throwing anything from a football, javelin, and baseball with strength and precision.  He served for 3 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and then career –wise became a committed Sales Manager that brought years of success and providing for his family.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Kathy of 50 years, his daughter Anne Bistan, son John, granddaughter Bria Bistan, brother Tom (Julie) Szafranski, sisters-in-law, Jennifer Craver and Ann (Gregg) Dvorak, Rosa Szafranski, and his many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.   

Visitation Friday October 20 from 10:00AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. Francis Borgia – South Church, N44 W6055 Hamilton Road, Cedarburg, WI 53012. Luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lawlis Hospice Center at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon, WI.
