Jon A. Haas
May 28, 1951 - October 14, 2017

Jon Haas passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14th at AngelsGrace Hospice after a long battle with metastatic recurrent kidney cancer.

Jon is survived by his wife and sweetie of 43 years, Mary, along with his children Annie, Joe, and Jackie; grandson Banyan, and Pappy to Maddy and Jack; brother, Dave, and honorary daughter (niece) Laura. Also special nieces and nephews, Jason, Kelly, Crystal, John, and cousins Jack and Luanne, among countless family, friends, and those whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen, brother Tom, nephew Richie, cousin Carlyn, and his father, Charles.

Almost each person who met him learned to be mellow, and to be boss, because they had a friend named Jonny Haas. Jon was a one of a kind guy with many interests, hobbies and passions in life.

Jon was an entrepreneur and inventor. He had a brilliant mind that was constantly moving from one idea to another, always thinking of ways to make things better. He was one of the founders of the Oconomowoc Company, and years later, Earth Tool Corporation. Jon certainly was all about working hard, playing hard, and most importantly, having integrity. He was also adamant about giving back to the community and helping those (anonymously) in need. At the end of the day, he lived by the golden rule.

Jon certainly will be missed...our hero, rock, mentor...truly a beautiful soul and the ultimate BBMFIC.

Take care of yourselves. Hold each other a little closer. Don't forget to say "I love you." Appreciate what you have. Promise less, deliver more. Trust your gut. Go on that vacation. And don't forget to be wise. Morning, noon, day, and night, Jonny Haas is outta sight. Yessir.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 23rd, from 1pm-4pm at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 121 S Cross St, Oconomowoc, WI.

Though the last few weeks of his life were very difficult, we could not have gotten through this without the love, care, and kindness bestowed upon us by the amazing nurses and staff (angels, really) at Angels Grace Hospice. Peaceful and painfree, the way it should always be.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Jon to either AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI or the Lake Area Free Clinic in Oconomowoc, WI.
