Karen Lou Holtz (nee Markus) passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on November 27, 2017, age 77, after a hard-fought battle with Cancer. She was a devoted loving wife to Arthur Holtz of 30 years, and a loving and supportive mother of Michelle (Scott) Duncan, Warren (Terri) Jenquin, Sarah (Timothy) Timmerman, Kent (Karen) Holtz, and Jason (Brenda) Holtz. She will be forever loved by her grandchildren, Brad (Maren) Jenquin, Ryan Jenquin, Amanda Duncan, Craig Duncan, Natasha Waldron, Chantel Timmerman, Jeffery Holtz, Lance Holtz, Stephanie Holtz, Eve Timmerman and Edin Kinnaman. She is survived by her dear brother, Alan (LeAnna) Markus. Karen was preceded in death of her parents, Carl and Melitta Markus and her sister, Charlotte Hinz. She will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Karen was born on July 29, 1940 in Sheboygan, WI and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1959. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling with her husband, Art in the US and Europe, attending her beautiful flower gardens, watercolor painting, and cooking.
Thank you to Community Memorial Hospital staff, especially the fifth floor and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Karen during her long battle of cancer.
A gathering will be on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave in Menomonee Falls from 10AM until 2PM with a Time for prayer and sharing at 11AM.
