Sorry to have just found out of Harold's passing today. We lived in Milwaukee from 2007-2010 and I met Harold through his ushering at Hillpoint, then Faithwalkers and then joined he and Erv as they ministered at the Rescue Mission on Saturday nights. What a blessing of a man and a life well lived to the glory of God! I look forward to our reaquaintance in Glory for eternity and am hoping they have Minis there!

My sympathy is with you; Paulette and all of Harold's family.

Harold was my neighbor for seventeen years. You couldn't ask for a more wonderful neighbor. Each day he had something very positive to say. He was kind to everyone. He had so much energy and a zest for life that it is hard to believe that he has passed. He would tell us about his adventures in his Mini Cooper. I remember one day he drove to Illinois and watched the unloading of wind turbines. He came home and explained to us what he learned from talking with the workers at the site about wind turbines. He made wind turbines absolutely fascinating. On Sunday afternoons he returned home from church and then get back in the Mini and head to the Mississippi River. He took all the winding roads and would return Sunday night. He had favorite stops along the way. His engineering background came through on a regular basis. He seemed to understand how everything worked and was able to fix things that I didn’t think were repairable. He so enjoyed his family and was a very proud father and grandfather. When Paulette came into his life, it was immediately apparent that Harold’s life was about to change. He was so happy and in love. One doesn’t get to have a friend like Harold very often in one’s life. He was so special.

I recall meeting Harold almost 12 years ago when I first came to Hill Point Church. I will never forget his amazing smile and firm handshake as he handed me a bulletin on my first Sunday. There was always something very unique and special about Harold. Being greeted by him was one of the things I looked forward to most on Sunday mornings. The last few Sundays when I didn't see him at the door to the sanctuary, I thought something must be wrong, but other ushers couldn't say why he wasn't there. I loved listening to some of the stories of his travels and seeing how happy he was every time he drove up or away in his little Mini Cooper. It was almost as if he was just one of the options that came with the vehicle. I remember when he and Paulette started dating. What a joy it brought to his heart and to those of his family and friends, including me. Watching them fall in love and eventually marry was one of my biggest thrills. I can honestly say it will never be the same walking through those Sanctuary doors without Harold there. I'm certain that no one will ever be able to fill his shoes, or his suit, for that matter. Very few people wear suits to church any more but I don't think Harold would have had it any other way. I respected and admired that about him. I look forward to the day when I will see his bright shining smile again when I enter heaven's gates.

It was such a privilege to be greeted by Harold for Sunday morning services at Hill Point. He was always smiling and offered warm greetings and a hug. He will be greatly missed by many, and we’ll look forward to seeing him in heaven. Blessings to his wonderful family, as you treasure the many special memories you have with this Godly man.
