Mike died unexpectedly on October 17, 2018 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Jane Spiegel-Hoffer for 32 years. Loving father of Jenny (Brian) Johnson, Kim (Mike) Weggeland and Kathy (Kabakas) Clark. Proud grandfather of Cesie (Ryan) Dahm and Ben Weggeland and great-grandfather of Raegan Dahm. Dear brother of Jeff (Mary Beth) Hoffer.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.  His early love for animals inspired him to open Wisconsin's finest pet shop- HOFFER'S TROPIC LIFE PETS. He was owner and operator from 1973-2014.  He became a local celebrity!

During these years he made so many friends and became a mentor to many of his employees.  He will be sorely missed by all.

Mike also enjoyed taking trips on his Harley.  Most recently taking a trip to Sturgis and a Circle Tour of Lake Superior.

Mike was a regular blood donor, church helper and personal Uber driver to family and friends.  If anyone needed a helping hand, he was always willing.  His latest act of charity was picking and loading over 100 pumpkins in his van.  These will be delivered to 4 kindergarten classes, who would not be able to afford a trip to a real pumpkin farm. Oh yes- and he paid for them all!

Mike's outlook on life was that it was all about the journey, not the destination.  He sure had one hell of a journey!

Visitation Saturday, October 20, 2018 at BEAUTIFUL SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3205 N. 85th St. in Milwaukee from 12 Noon until time of the Funeral Service at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Willow Brook Haven, Inc. or Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
