Dear Jim and Kathy,
Only tears, no words, can begin to express my deepest sympathy for your loss of beautiful Alex. I have countless fond and looking vintage memories of the time I was privileged to know hm. He as so dear to me and all who knew him. I’ll be forever grateful to you both for sharing Alex with me and the Project Change family. His visits after graduation brought joy and laughter as these were his special gifts. I’m so sad I was not able to share my grief with you at his service. You will remain in my heart and prayers always. Deepest sorrow, Tracy Mitchell

Though I only met Alex once, I learned about him through his mother. Her words in Alex's obituary clearly show the measure of a very good man.

Alex was a phenomenal example of recovery and fun in young people! I loved him as a brother in recovery. We had many inside jokes while playing golf and going to meetings. He was the first person I would call to sponsor a young person in my care.
