Darian L. Griffin
December 22, 1969 - February 11, 2019

Darian L. Griffin was born in Milwaukee, WI, to Stonewall and Ernestine Griffin, and joined his brother, Brian, to be raised in Milwaukee, WI, within a loving and supportive family. He passed from this life on Monday, February 11, 2019. Darian was also affectionately known as ‘D-Griff’ and ‘Dar-ee-an’ to friends and co-workers.

He was educated at Urban Day School and Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, WI. Darian then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting; and Marquette University in Milwaukee, with an MBA, Business of Managerial Economics. Darian was a hard-working and devoted employee at SC Johnson in Racine, Wisconsin for 27 and one-half years, where he received numerous awards for his leadership, contributions and service. Darian’s career began with an assignment as a Financial Staff Analyst and ended as CFO of Babyganics, an SC Johnson company in New York. He worked diligently to exemplify the family values he had been taught during his childhood. Darian’s love for people also guided him in his service to the community, which he offered with a generous heart and ‘people first’ mentality. His most recent outpouring of guidance and care toward his community were as the Director of the Racine Youth Leadership Academy at the YMCA in Racine, WI; Boy Scout Cub Master; Boy’s Basketball Coach; Board Member of the Health Care Network, Inc. in Racine, WI; Catholic Formation Co-Leader for middle school students; and Treasurer and incoming President of the Board for SERRV International in Madison, WI. He willingly gave his time and talent to help others succeed.

In his personal life, he dearly loved and cherished his wife and children and enjoyed staying up to date with the latest technology to bond with them and create family memories. Watching the latest movies was his way to relax, even on his longest flights around the world. Darian also fancied himself as a budding aquatics expert and adopted and cared for a multitude of fresh-water fish, salt-water fish and a Mantis Shrimp named Cassius. He was also a local celebrity during his rap career, Starbucks enthusiast, world traveler, and school trip chaperone extraordinaire. Darian’s signature remembrances are his fabulous and ready smile, his radiant personality and his generous spirit. He will be deeply missed.

In Darian’s passing we are left with a vast emptiness and space to fill. It will not remain a void because each of us who were inspired by him will embrace his example and continue to enact upon the model he provided.

Faith Affirmation “I see abundance everywhere I look. Opportunities for new good are flowing toward me daily, and I acknowledge You, God as my True Source of Good. Thank You, God, for the many rich blessings in my life and the security that all my needs are met!”

Darian is survived by his wife and children, his parents and brother, and an abundant number of extended family members and friends.
