Susan Peterson (nee Platt), 76, of Glendale, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Born in 1944, she was preceded in death by parents: William and Lucille (nee Green). She is survived by husband Robert; children, Mark (Wendy) Peterson and Kristin (Brad) Winger; beloved grandchildren, Robert, Kelly, Kathryn, Charlie and Henry; sister Nancy (Paul Suke) Platt; niece Heidi (Tim Losk) Suke and great-niece Eva Losk. Further survived by other relatives and close friends.

Susan was born January 15, 1944 in Menasha, WI to William and Lucille Platt. In 1966 Susan completed her degree in music education at Carthage College. She married Robert Peterson that same year and they went on to start a life together and raise their two children. Susan was an academic advisor at the University Wisconsin-Milwaukee for over 15 years and truly had a passion for working with students. Throughout Susan’s career, she received two distinguished honors: School of Education Staff Excellence Award and UWM Academic Service Award. 

Susan had a passion for sports, reading, music, and spending quality time with family. She also found joy in making others smile and laugh. Susan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A private funeral service will be held with a celebration of life to follow this summer. Cards may be sent to the family in care of Schmidt & Bartelt 10280 N Port Washington Road, Mequon WI 53092. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society are appreciated.
