Of Mequon, WIsconsin, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. He is so deeply missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara (Stauber) Gaulke, and his son and daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth (McCurdy-Jankowski) Gaulke. Wayne’s family was so important to him, and he dearly loved his grandchildren, Robert, Danielle and Deanna Gaulke, Timothy, Andrew, Matthew and Sarah Jankowski.
Born in Milwaukee to Ralph and Delores (Oppmann) Gaulke, Wayne was an accomplished electrician and was very successful in his career. He was also an extremely talented wood worker. He made many, many stunning pieces of art for Barb, and they are displayed throughout their home. Wayne and Barb lived a blessed and full life together. Their mutual love of nature took them on many travels. From the Rocky Mountains to Canada, Laura Lake to Florida, they lived their lives to the fullest, true partners in all respects. Every winter, they’d hop aboard their coach and head down south.They made beautiful memories camping, canoeing, hiking and biking. Their love for each other is a true inspiration to so many.
Along with their son, David, Wayne and Barb were car enthusiasts. They attended many car shows together, enjoying sharing their love of classic cars with other people. Wayne was especially proud of his ‘67 Pontiac Grand Prix and ‘79 Trans Am. He and Barb got so much enjoyment cruising around in their classic cars. Wayne is sorely missed by his brother-in-law, Peter Stauber, close and special friends Donna, Greg, and Diane, and many other family members and friends.
