Marianne E. Rauenbuehler (nee Brasseur) passed away peacefully after a short illness on May 10, 2020.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Rauenbuehler, parents Raymond and Elizabeth Brasseur, and brother Raymond Brasseur, Jr (Sandy).  She is survived by her sister Jeannette Brasseur, children John (Joan) Rauenbuehler,  Mary Rauenbuehler, Liz  (Gary) Wysocki. Katherine (Bob) Nadon, and Paula Rauenbuehler.  Further survived by grandchildren  Sara (Jordan) Rauenbuehler, Joe (Dana) Rauenbuehler, Jenny (Dustin) McFadzen, Robert Browne, Luke (Becky) Wysocki, Anna (Brett) Hausler, Rosie (Ben) Wysocki, Mike (Laura) Draeger, Zac Nadon and Nic Nadon. Also survived by great grandchildren Alexa, Adalyn, Brynlee (fondly called her Double G), Jace, Carter, Lacey. Niece and Nephews Jonathan, Jeffrey, Christopher and Dianne. Further survived by many relatives and dear friends.

Marianne was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt.  She had many talents and interests among them being an excellent home cook and gardener, skills which she passed on to her children.  She loved classical and jazz music and playing the piano to the delight of her grandchildren. Marianne was an excellent seamstress, her skills you would have admired if you were able to come to the visitation. Her nursing degree benefited many people through her genuine and excellent care and called herself a nurse her entire life. Her children however were rarely able to successfully fake being sick to get out of school.

Her love for her family was unsurpassed. A devoted wife and partner of her husband in participating in groups such as the Camera Club at Eaton, Wisconsin Vintners Association and a shared participation as scout leaders for Boy and Girl Scout organizations. She enthusiastically supported her children and grandchildren in their interests and endeavors.

She and John were world travelers and especially enjoyed their trips to China.  The latest of which she was proud to say she was the only human to survive a panda bite. You can also see this interest in her Chinese themed paintings proudly displayed in art shows and in her home.

She never stopped learning and enjoyed taking grandchildren to the Milwaukee Public Museum and Science Bag talks. Through this love for learning and expanding minds, she prepared her children well for living lives with strong values and character.  She took pride in their independence, self-reliance and confidence seeing them succeed each in their own way. It is this legacy we are proud to carry out in her honor.

She was educated in the Catholic school system and practiced Christian values and principles. Through this she showed others the importance of having a social conscience and caring for the greater society.

The family thanks the North Shore Fire and Rescue teams and the medical professionals at Ascension Columbia St Mary’s Milwaukee for taking excellent care of Marianne during her short illness. We are very grateful for the compassion the hospital team showed us as we said our goodbyes.

Above all, she loved and was well loved.

Private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Eugene Catholic Church and entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial gathering is being planned for May, 2021 where we can all gather to celebrate her life and share our most cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you honor her practice to patronize locally owned businesses during this time.  Please select a local business of your choice and help them in a way that is comfortable to you.
