Donna M. Vaillancourt
January 30, 1956 - December 25, 2020

Donna Marie (nee Federico) Vaillancourt, 64, passed away in her home surrounded by family in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin on December 25, 2020.

She was born on January 30, 1956 in Portland, Maine the daughter of the late Frank and Lena (nee Germani) Federico, formerly of Portland and South Portland, Maine.

Donna attended South Portland High School and while playing basketball was awarded the outstanding defensive player. She attended The University of Maine with studies in business.

Donna would soon meet her future husband, Alan Vaillancourt, whom she married in 1978 and a few short years later, moved to Clearwater, Florida. While in Florida, son, Joseph, was born, and the family  had many years of memorable beach and camping vacations extending from the Florida Keys to the Florida Panhandle and also enjoyed camping in the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina.  In Clearwater, Donna was also involved in the community and relished the years she was a member and Vice President in the Clearwater Jaycees.

In Florida, Donna started her 38 year career in banking, and thanks to what later became a close friendship, she was mentored to become an outstanding banker. Donna and Alan would spend the next 20 years in Florida until a job transfer would bring them to Watertown, Wisconsin. Donna continued her banking career with Associated Bank and then culminated her career with 13 years with ISB where she was a bank manager until her retirement in 2017. In Watertown, she was involved with the Chamber of Commerce and was a Student Mentor for the Watertown School District.

Donna always looked forward to the many lengthy trips with her husband during the Wisconsin winter months to the Riviera Maya and San Jose del Cabo. During the Wisconsin summers, she delighted in time at camp and pontoon boating while spending time with her son’s family, especially her first grandson, Graham, whom she treasured. And then this past summer, along came another grandson, Dixon, whom she treasured just as much. She was an avid Zumba girl and trained and participated in mud runs. On Friday nights a Wisconsin fish fry or a Saturday meal at our friends' restaurant was in order. This was our place to be for nearly 20 years, home away from home socializing with friends.

Donna is survived by her spouse of 42 years,  Alan Vaillancourt; son, Joseph Vaillancourt and daughter-in-law, Samantha, and two grandchildren, Graham and Dixon Vaillancourt, brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Carollyn Federico of New Hampshire; sister-in-law, Jo Federico of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and several  nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by one brother, John Federico (JoAnne Federico).

Donna was a four year warrior “Superwomen” in her battle against cancer. She received several cutting-edge technology treatments from The University of Wisconsin which gave her a couple of additional years of life to enjoy. It was her wish that donations be made to The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center for research and development to discover new treatments and a cure for cancer.
