My mother and Carole are cousins. My mom passed in 2005 and my Dad passed in 2014. Both times Carole was a calming influence during those challenging times in my life. I have photo albums of my mom's family and hers as children and frequently return to for wonderful times they shared . My Aunt who is also Carole's cousin and lives in Fond du lac was visited often by Carole after my mom passed. My Aunt does not drive and Carole would take Margaret out for lunch and to a dinner theatre. Margaret and I will both miss Carole dearly and pray she is resting peacefully. Thank you Carole for being a beautiful soul. Love,Jeff

I worked at D&L with Carole for many years. I started there as a teenager and I remember her complaining that computers were awful. (In her defense, we did have pretty awful programs to use.)
She often joked that she was born in the wrong century. :)
(and I would agree with her) :)

Selfishly, though, I'm grateful she was born when she was because otherwise our paths would have never crossed. Carole was kind and gentle in spirit, she loved her family and her horses fiercely, and I am proud to have called her "friend".

Carole, I pray your beloved Savior was waiting for you with your beloved horses and you are all galloping in paradise.

You were one of a kind and I'll miss you...

love,
-Linda

Just over 32 years ago, I sat in the Jackson branch of F&M Bank filling out an employment application for a secretary position staring down on the section where I was to list referrals from someone who wasn’t a family member or previous employer. I was 22 and didn’t have a long list of non-employer adults I could come up with. Eventually, I thought of Carole. While she was already retired from the bank, she had known me all my life and I was pretty sure she would put in a good word for me.

Just a few days after submitting that application, I received a phone call from Judy Weber who had worked with Carol for a very long time at F&M and who had posted the job.

My first day at work was January 16, 1989 and that secretary job lead into a successful full-fledged banking career that without a little help from Carole, I don’t think ever would have materialized. I’m not sure Carole ever realized what an important role she played on a young mom who desperately needed a good job.

Like Carole, I didn’t have a college degree either but that first “professional” job has made a tremendous difference for me and my family. Thank you Carole for always being a wonderful family friend.

Carole became part of a Red Hat Society group in 2005. She volunteered to be our "historian". What a "fabulous" fun job she did creating albums with photos, etc. from members. New friendships were made & good times were had thru these many years. Tho we once were 13-14 members strong we are now just 6. Our sincere condolences to all of Carole's family! We do & will miss her! Mary, Nancy, Rosemary,Margie, Darlene & Eileen aka the Fabulous Reds!

Horses brought me & Carole together. I was maybe 12 when we managed to get our horses over a stone fence just so we could ride together. We remained friends sharing many trails but also life adjustments. She is missed! Condolences to all the family!
