Gale L. Schafer, age 82, passed away on October 1, 2021.  Born on December 27, 1938, to Harold and Dorothy (nee Henrikson) Anderson.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark T. Schafer.

Loving mother of Linda (Bruce) Fischer, Rebecca (David) Spruill, and Susan Schafer.

Beloved grandmother of Katrina (Kyle) O’Brien, Emma Fischer, Julia Spruill and Elijah Spruill.

Dear sister of Bruce (Judi) Anderson.  Sister-in-law of Barbara Vollmer.

Gale was a school teacher and a pastor’s wife.  She loved meeting new people and finding out all about them.  She is known for being a great letter writer- remembering everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries.  She was an avid sports fan- her favorite teams being the Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks.  She was a prayer warrior and an encouragement to all who knew her. 

Gale knew Jesus as her Savior and told everyone she knew about His love and forgiveness.  She was looking forward to seeing Him in heaven.  Her faith carried her through difficult times and she was an example to all of a woman who loved her Lord and served Him with her whole heart.  She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

The funeral service for Gale will take place on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Sussex.  Visitation is from 5:30-6:30 pm.  The service will follow at 6:30 pm.  A private family burial will take place the following day.
