Ian Strider Hunt passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 2, 2022. Beloved husband to his high school sweetheart Amanda, and a loving and dedicated father to sons Rowan and Niall. Dear son of Patricia Hunt and Gregory Hunt, stepson to Colleen Hunt and caring brother to Heather Hunt. Amazing son-in-law to Marilynn Davison, Phil and Jane Davison, and brother-in-law to Brian and Melissa Davison, Becky and Keith Johnson, and Jeff Reinsbach. Wonderful uncle to Madeline, Isabelle, Chapman, Juris and Henry. He loved all his family so much.
Strider enjoyed travel, hiking, and helping his sons with Scouts, robotics, and other activities. He was an avid runner his entire life. He was captain of his high school state championship team, and he competed in marathons later in life. A few of his accomplishments include an internship at Mercedes Benz in Germany, and a master’s degree in Acoustical Engineering from Penn State University.
A gifted mechanical engineer at GE Healthcare where he worked on liquid bearings for CAT scan machines for over 20 years and earned numerous patents.
Strider’s calm presence, loving heart and warm embrace will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Visitation at Schmidt and Bartelt in Sussex will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00, and a remembrance sharing from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. Amanda would like you to share a funny, happy, or beautiful memory of Strider.
