My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. He was one of the few co-workers I was able to keep in touch with in person during the pandemic, as we both went in to the office quite regularly. It was always great to stop by and chat. As I'd seem him so often recently, I was absolutely shocked when I heard of his passing. He will be missed.

Travels with Doug

For all of the teams that worked with and for Doug there were always occasions where it was Doug that bailed us out of cancellations. Among his many talents he was a travel expert.

That brings to mind a tune that seems to fit:

Long Time Traveler Lyrics

These fleeting charms of earth
Farewell, your springs of joy are dry
My soul now seeks another home
A brighter world on high

I'm a long time travelling here below

I'm a long time travelling away from home

I'm a long time travelling here below

To lay this body down

Farewell kind friends whose tender care

Has long engaged my love

Your fond embrace I now exchange

For better friends above
-----------

All the best to Doug's family. We miss him too.

Our company worked with Doug through the years on various conversion projects. The knowledge and expertise he brought to his job and shared with his clients was second to none. We hope that you find peace in your memories with him and a life well lived.

~ Pamela Minnick, Fulton Bank, Lancaster, PA

Doug was one of a kind. FIS and the wealth industry truly lost a legend. I had the pleasure of working with Doug during two conversions and learned so much from him. His knowledge and wisdom was priceless. I will forever miss our text messages about football, basketball and the Kentucky Derby! I send my condolences to his family, friends and coworkers!

~ Dana Garland, Robinson, PA

Bob & Lisa, and the entire family, my sympathies on the loss of your brother. I can only imagine the sadness you all feel. A brother is special, and Doug was young. I hope he lives on in all of you. Peace and blessings, Lee.

The Trust Industry lost a true legend last weekend. As a longtime employee of M&I Data/Metavante/FIS, Doug worked tirelessly on client conversions. His commitment and dedication to quality conversions, good customer service and care of his client firms was consistent and never ending. He made a definite and positive mark in the Trust Industry that will long be remembered. His patience in teaching colleagues and members of client firms was immense. He tolerated an amazing number of questions from me when I started my tenure with then M&I Data in 1998. He was of strong character and as honest as the day is long. He had such pride for his family and strived so very hard to be a good and caring father. I remember that he had a great laugh. He will be missed by so many people who were family members, co-workers, clients, and friends. Losing Doug so young is overwhelmingly sad. May Doug have eternal peace and tranquility. May the angels welcome him with open arms. May he reunite with family and friends (e.g., Jean Mangan) who have gone before him. Blessings and prayers for Doug’s family during this challenging time.

Our memories of Doug will never fade. Ever positive. Ever enjoyable to be around. Solid character, dedicated, smart, infectious humor, hard working, never complaining (openly), easy going in the right situation, and a magnetic personality: a center of attention in all groups.

Too far away to know of his condition, we eagerly anticipated seeing him again this summer or even this fall for a Packer's game in Florida. Gatherings will never be the same without Doug.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time of grief. Know that Doug was a positive force in the world and will be missed by so many.

He was truly a remarkable man to work with.
