Paul T. Hickey
September 30, 1932 - May 18, 2022
        

Paul Thomas Hickey, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.  He was born September 30, 1932 in Whitefish Bay, WI to Clement and Frances Hickey.  He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School where he played football and was an All-State performer where his team won the state championship.  He graduated from Marquette University.  He served in the Army and was stationed in France after WW II.

He then began his real estate career and ultimately owned and operated Hickey & Meyer Real Estate on Oakland Ave.  Through the Vagabond Ski Club, he met his angel on earth, Sara “Sally” Langhoff.  They were married at St. Roberts on April 20, 1963 and raised 6 children.

He and his wife were active members at St. Monica Parish where he taught CCD and performed countless other volunteer activities. After teaching CCD, they began to teach Catholic marriage preparation classes at the Parish. He was a devoted family man and was a wonderful teacher, mentor and role model for his family.  His true hobby was working on home projects. He was the original “MacGyver” and could complete any project with some epoxy, a few screws and duct tape.

He is survived by his wife Sally of 59 years, children Joseph (Melissa) of Cottage Grove, Mary (Tom) of Bloomington, MN, Peter of Miami, Sara (Gary) of Twin Lakes, Christopher (Shirley) of Silverthorne, CO, Kevin (Barb) of Denver and 12 grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Hugh and David Hickey.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 3PM to 5PM at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home (10121 W. North Ave, Wauwatosa). Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11:30AM at St. Camillus- Guardian Angel Chapel (10100 W. Bluemound Rd, Wauwatosa). Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery at 1PM.
