(nee Hauser) Born to Eternal to Life on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Clement “JR” for 65 years. Loving mother of Susan Gleissner, David (fiancée Vicki Albrecht) Gleissner, Linda Lacy, Christine (the late James Krzoska) Gleissner and Sharon Gleissner. Cherished grandmother of Michael Lacy, Diana Lacy, Arick and Ciana Gleissner, Austin and Jakob. Dear sister-in-law of Marilyn (the late William) Thompson and Marguerite (the late Alois) Gleissner. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her sisters Marion and Joan.
Shirley grew up in Germantown, Wisconsin. As a teenager she met the love of her life, JR, and they built a home right next to her childhood home, and that is where she spent the rest of her life. She had 5 children and worked from home babysitting other neighborhood kids and ironing clothes for families in order for her to stay home and raise her children. As her children grew up she was able to focus on the many passions in her life, first of all her grandchildren. She also loved playing bingo, as well as helping to organize bowling tournaments, rummage sales and many other social functions. She was a member of Christian Mother's Society and spent much time helping at her church, St. Boniface. As Shirley always said, she was a party girl, and she enjoyed throwing parties for every holiday, and every birthday as well as any other reason she could find. Nothing brought her more joy than bringing her family together and celebrating them. She loved Christmas, and always had the biggest tree with so many presents it filled half the room. Shirley was always smiling or laughing, everyone she met was her friend. She truly loved all people but was especially fiercely devoted to her family. Her infectious smile will be greatly missed.
