Lois Firzlaff Olds
December 30, 1928 - September 20, 2022
        

Lois Olds passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the age of 93.  She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Mark) Walker, her son Bruce Olds (Nancy Bocina), her grandchildren Bryce Olds (Liz Purnell), Joseph (Tammy) Walker, Benjamin (Katie) Walker, Michael (Liz) Walker, eight great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Dorothy Olds, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Cleo Olds; her parents, Walter Firzlaff and Gladys (nee Lauterbach) Firzlaff Sweitzer; her brother, Leslie Firzlaff; her brothers-in-law Melvin (Virginia) Olds, Jack (Joyce) (Joan) Olds, James (Dorothy) Olds, and niece Barbara Disch.

A graduate of Wisconsin State Teachers College-Milwaukee (UWM), class of 1949, she was an elementary school teacher in the Menomonee Falls public school system for 20 years.  Upon retirement she worked for 20 years in the leasing office of the Wildwood Highland Apartments and Townhomes in Menomonee Falls.

A lifelong music and nature-lover, she was a Past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters Bethel #2, Past President of the Menomonee Falls chapter of Junior Women’s Club, Past President of the Menomonee Falls PTA, Past President of the Community Memorial Hospital Volunteers of Menomonee Falls (Froedtert), and a long-time member of the Friends for the Preservation of Lime Kiln Park.

Visitation will be held at Emmanuel Community United Methodist Church, N84W16707 Menomonee Ave. Menomonee Falls, on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 12pm until time of Memorial Service at 1pm. 

Memorials to Wisconsin Endangered Resources Fund or Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in her name are appreciated.
