Eleanor Rose Caplinger

Of Menomonee Falls, (born and raised in Denver, Colorado) was called home by her Lord and Savior on October 13, 2022, at the age of 88.  Loving mother of Roger (Jacqueline) Caplinger; proud grandmother of Kyle, Brett, Gabrielle, and Ryan.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Roger L. Caplinger.  She joins in heaven, her mother and father, Anthony and Mary Marchese, along with her brothers and sister Michael, Ralph, and Florence.  Surviving brother Anthony (Helen) Marchese.

The matriarch of our family, Eleanor’s dedication to her family was admirable, as she always put her family first.   Eleanor was an exceptional cook of all Italian dishes and shared these generational family recipes but would never come close to replicating.

When Eleanor was in her prime, she worked in the florist industry for over 25 years in Denver, Colorado interacting with numerous designers and customers to bring joy into their lives through flowers.   Her creative ability was second to none and had an “eye” for breathtaking floral arrangements.

Both Eleanor and her husband, Roger were devoted members in the Knights of Columbus (#3319) in Denver to bring faith and brotherhood/sisterhood of catholic religion to the community.   Eleanor spearheaded numerous events to raise money for the less fortunate/charitable organizations within her community.

Our family will miss Eleanor “The Boss”, as she was always in the center of our lives.   By her actions, she demonstrated to generations how to love and care for each other.   Her generosity to others and belief to take care of her family will remain paramount in our lives.

To honor Eleanor, please consider donations to the We Care Fund at the Medical College of Wisconsin, which supports research and innovation to accelerate the development of life-saving solutions, especially in Pancreatic Cancer.    As her son Roger, is a survivor of Pancreatic Cancer.

A Celebration of Eleanor’s Life will be held Saturday, April 22 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls (N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave.) at 10:00 AM.  There will be a Visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of the Service.  Fr. Jerry Hereda will officiate the Service.
