Sending my condolences to the Dressier family on the passing of Herr Dressier.
The impact he had on me and my late sister Diane sparked a love of the German language. We both studied the language through college, with Diane becoming fluent.
May the memories of his impact on countless students, family and friends bring you solace and strength.
Sending warm regards and positive karma.

I was so very sorry to hear about Herr Dressler's passing. I was fortunate to have him as a teacher for two years in the late 90s. He definitely sparked much of interest in language and culture.
I've thought of him many times over the years--everywhere from a work trip to Vienna to when Duolingo's pronnunciation is a bit Sheboygan Deutsch. That said, another enduring impact is that I'm still, 25 years later, unable to listen to ZZ Top without thinking about them as Herr's Lieblingsband.
Know that he really did make a fantastic impact in the lives of so many Tosa kids, and we're grateful for it. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and former students/colleagues.

I took German I and II in 7th and 8th grades with Herr Dressler. He was a superb instructor with high expectations. I still recall being graded on the accuracy of our notes taken from the chalkboard. I think we benefitted greatly from having excellent teachers, two of whom were native speakers, like Herr Dressler.
I enjoyed him as a teacher and still have fond memories of some of the gems he would share. I also have a clear memory of the fall of East Germany and the Berlin Wall being torn down when we were in 7th or 8th, and how he tied that into the course.
And no one forgets him tossing the butt end of the chalk into the wastebasket when he was disappointed with us ;-)
My condolences to the family--thank you for sharing your husband and dad with so many of us for so many years--vielen dank!
