Robert “Bob” J. Rathke

Of Union Grove, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2023 at the age of 63.  He is survived by his loving wife Toni; proud father of Eric Rathke, Sarah Rathke, Brittany (Nickos) Santiago, and Krystin (AJ) Crean; cherished grandpa of Austin, Rylan, James, Maxuel, and Taryn.  He is further survived by his sister Mary Corriher, nieces and nephews Erica (Dan), Travis, Brandon, and Jennifer.  Bob was preceded by his parents August and LaVerne Rathke, and his sister Pat Justin.

Robert was undeniably proud of his career as an over the road truck driver. He began driving semi’s at the young age of 23 and continued throughout his life. It was his passion. He ate, slept and breathed trucking. And he was one of the best at what he did. 

The only thing he loved more than his career was his family. When he wasn't working, you could find him at home with his loved ones. He could often be found tinkering around in the shed, shooting guns, playing with his grandkids, or chatting away with friends.

He was a strong, stubborn, loving and supportive father and husband. His quick wit and humor kept everyone on their toes and laughing. 

Robert had a huge heart and loved those around him fiercely and tirelessly. His presence here with us will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St. Mukwonago) from 3:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 PM.
