Diane K. Marx, age 71, passed away Sunday, November 5th, 2023. Born to parents Raymond and Laura Fenske on January 17th, 1952, she grew up in Wisconsin with her six siblings. Diane was a high school graduate of D.C Everest and continued her education at WCTC, formerly known as WCTI, and graduated with an associate degree in Nursing as an LPN in 1975. She spent the next three decades working as a nurse in multiple different settings, ranging from a nursing home to a clinic to hospice care, ending her career at Moreland Family Medicine in 2015. Diane was the mother of two daughters, Carrie Laura and Jessica Dawn, and the grandmother to five grandchildren: Madeline, Colin, Gretchen, Kailey, and Kendall who she loved dearly and was known fondly by them as ‘Grandma D’. Time spent with family was of great importance to her, including annual apple picking, cookie decorating, and tea parties. Diane loved to take walks in the woods, cultivate gardens, and enjoy the company of the birds outside her window; nature was her greatest companion and purest source of joy. In addition to nature, Diane loved the company of dogs, including Bailey and her furry friends around the neighborhood. When she wasn’t outside, Diane loved to be inside crocheting, baking, and watching The Sound of Music. Her favorite forms of entertainment were watching classic movies and Wisconsin sports teams, specifically the Packers and the Bucks. A large part of Diane’s life was her faith; she loved reading her Bible and spending time at church amongst those who encouraged her. She made true and lasting friends at her bible studies, and always looked forward to them throughout the years. Survived by those she loved, Diane will always be remembered by her passionate care of others, her encouragement of those she loved, and her kind heart.
Diane is survived by her daughters Carrie (Bill ) Schmidt and Jessica Marx; grandchildren Madeline, Colin, Gretchen, Kailey, and Kendall; siblings Marilyn Glenn and Ron (Jan ) Fenske. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Diane was preceded by her parents Raymond and Laura (nee Cherek) Fenske and siblings Kenneth Fenske, Sharon Fenske, Shirly Mealy, and Gerald Fenske.
