Philip J. LeClaire - Current Brookfield and former Milwaukee resident, passed away at the age of 65 on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in Milwaukee, WI. His final moments were spent lovingly surrounded by his family.
Phil was born October 27, 1958, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late John and Carol (Pekarske) LeClaire. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara (Wozniak), for 38 great years. His pride and joy were his two sons John and Philip; he was so proud of them and all their accomplishments. He adored his future daughters-in-law, Whitney and Natalie, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Phil is survived by his brothers John (Liza) and Michael (Donna) LeClaire, brother-in-law Michael (Kathy) Wozniak, and godmother Ruth LeClaire. He was an avid dog lover and had many schnauzer companions throughout his life, most recently Charley.
Phil was devoted to helping others and was extremely proud of his loving family. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering. He was a life-long engineer who also went on to start an Italian restaurant in Brookfield. Phil made a tremendous impact in the community through his involvement in the organizations his sons took part in, such as being a Boy Scouts Cubmaster as well as president and coach for Spartan Youth Football. Phil will be remembered for his storytelling and humor, even in his final days. Though he enjoyed cooking in his free time and playing guitar in wedding bands throughout his life, his true passion was being a selfless husband and father.
A remembrance service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:30 AM with a celebration of life gathering from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church located at 8424 W. Center St., Milwaukee, WI 53222.
