Found peace on December 1, 2023 at age 79. Loving husband of Kathy (nee McHugh) for 53 years. Brother of John (Barb) Melvin. Brother-in-law of Matt (Joanne) McHugh and Shawn (Patty) McHugh. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Beverly (nee Loring) Melvin.

Jim proudly served in the United States Army Reserve. 

Jim had a great love of music. He was playing guitar and singing in an old Rock n Roll band when he met the love of his life, Kathy. Later, he started playing Old Country Music. He was involved in many different bands over the years; being a gifted guitarist and singer. He wrote several original songs and was a member of the National Songwriters Association of Nashville TN.

Jim enjoyed having jam sessions and just hanging out with other musicians, sharing his knowledge of music.

Jim and Kathy worked hard to build their home on Found Lake in St. Germain WI where they enjoyed fishing, relaxing and spending time with family and friends. In the winter they enjoyed spending time with their friends in Texas.

We will miss his smile, sense of humor and love of Music.

Visitation will be at Schmidt & Bartelt in Menomonee Falls on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2pm until time of Memorial Service at 4pm.
