Luan Wendlick
October 3, 1941 - November 29, 2023

On November 29, God called Luan Wendlick home to Himself, where she now rejoices in heaven forever.

Luan was given life by her creator and was born on October 3, 1941 to the late Gerald and Alvira Hensel in West Allis, Wisconsin, where she was raised with her brother Ronald (Marita) Hensel and sister Sandy (Jack) Habrat.

In October of 1962, she was united in holy marriage to James Wendlick, with whom she shared a loving life and many travels, until his death in September of 1999. The chief joys of their life together were their four children Cheryl Wagner (Brian), of Litchfield Park, Arizona, James Jr. (Jill), also of Litchfield Park, Daniel (Peggy), of Longwood, Florida, and Robert (Ann), of Bourbonnais, Illinois.

Luan was a proud and devoted grandmother to her granddaughters Elizabeth Newell, Anne Margaret (Michael) Schmitz, Megan (Michael) Edmonds, and Jenna Wendlick, and great-grandmother of Rosemary Newell.

Luan’s life was filled with the blessing of many special people through her years of volunteer service as a room mother, Cub Scout leader, and Sunday School Teacher, as well as her career as an accounting clerk at the Woolworth Central Accounting Office in Milwaukee, and later as a cafeteria worker in the Germantown School District, not to mention being an ardent, if not always understanding, fan of her children's sports teams and supporter of their other activities.

She is survived by her Sister-in law Mary Ann Wendlick, Brother-in-law John Stailey, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin (W156N7149 Pilgrim Rd.) at 11:00 am on December 12, 2023, with visitation at the church beginning at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her memory to the American Lung Associations or the charity of your choice.
