Of Campbellsport, formerly of Pewaukee, unexpectedly went home to the Lord on December 1, 2023, at the age of 83 years. Marie was born on May 20, 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary M. Jacquest. Marie had many interests over the years including horseback riding, water ballet, helping with her family’s vending business, selling Avon for just shy of 50 years, knitting, crocheting, and playing bingo. In her later years she developed a love of camping, fishing, and swimming in the lake. Marie had a great sense of humor and always shared knock knock jokes with those around her. Surrounding herself with people and talking with them or celebrating a holiday (especially St. Patrick’s Day) was one of her favorite pass times. She also cherished time spent playing with her beloved Persian cats. Marie will always be remembered for her big heart and infectious laugh.
Marie will be dearly missed by her children, Scott Hartlage, and Mary (Jason) Nettesheim; grandchildren, Cody, Paige and Ryan Nettesheim, Elizabeth, and Sarah Hartlage; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and children, Joseph, and Kerry Hartlage.
The visitation for Marie will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the SCHMIDT & BARTELT FUNERAL HOME in SUSSEX from 9:30AM until the time of the funeral service at 11AM. The burial will be held at Union Cemetery in Campbellsport, WI on Saturday, December 16th at 1PM (please meet at the cemetery). In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are greatly appreciated to help with funeral expenses.
