(nee Jacob) Called home to eternal life on December 5, 2023 at the age of 71. Beloved wife of Dave for 21 years. Loving mother of Jason (Jessie) Mayer, Andrew (Maggie) Mayer, Megan (Scott) Stieglitz and Kara (Dave) Reese. Proud Meme of Myles, Reid, Mackenzie, Addison, Kylie, Jacob, and Raylee. Further survived by other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Shirley Jacob and brother Craig Jacob.

Cherie grew up in Brown Deer and graduated from Brown Deer High School in 1970.  She attended UW-Oshkosh for a year, but ultimately decided to start a family of her own.  She worked various jobs in her life which included an assistant in a pediatrician’s office, a homemaker, and a secretary at a local law firm.  However, her true passion was teaching young children.  She was a preschool teacher at Suburban Preschool in Menomonee Falls and Elmbrook Preschool in Brookfield.  One of her greatest accomplishments was helping found and teaching at Holy Cross Preschool in Menomonee Falls.

She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church since the late 1970s, which is where she met her second husband and love of her life, Dave.  They married in 2002 and started the next chapter in both of their lives, blending their families together seamlessly.  Cherie enjoyed traveling with Dave across the country, the northwoods, going for walks, caring for plants, interior decorating, writing poems, playing the piano, and her bible study group.  She also very much enjoyed spending time with her and Dave’s seven grandchildren who all know that she’ll forever be singing mockingbird to them and loving them as big as heaven.

Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, W156N8131 Pilgrim Rd, Menomonee Falls, on Friday, December 15 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Frontida Assisted Living of Germantown or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
