Mary S. Caminiti
August 20, 1929 - December 6, 2023

(Nee Alioto)  Found Eternal Peace on December 6, 2023, at the age of 94.  Mary is reunited in heaven with her husband, Joseph P. Caminiti.  Loving and caring mother of Madelynn (the late Daniel G.) Woodward and Catherine (Franklin "Rocky") LaDien.  Proud and loving Nana of Kathryn Woodward (Marco) Nasca, the late Mary Elizabeth Woodward, Daniel Woodward, Joseph (Lia) and John (Katherine) LaDien. Cherished Great-Nana of Matthew and John Nasca, Emilia LaDien and Louisa LaDien.  Sister-in-law of Harriett Alioto and sister of the late Frances (Joseph) Dentice, Nina (Frank) Balistrieri, John (Florence) Alioto, and Angelo Alioto.  She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.

Mary was born on August 20, 1929, to John and Catherine Alioto in Milwaukee, WI.  She attended St. John’s Cathedral High School.  She met the love of her life, Joe Caminiti, as a teenager.  They married in 1950 and were married for 64 years before his passing in 2014.   She treasured family life with their daughters and their spouses and later with their four grandchildren.  She was fortunate to know and love four great-grandchildren.

An incredible cook, there was always a seat at Mary’s table.  She brought everyone together for holidays and pasta or steak dinners on weekends.  She enjoyed extended trips to Florida and vacations in Spain and Italy with dear friends.  She worked at her family’s restaurant, Alioto’s, for many years.  She considered her colleagues and customers extended family. Mary was well-known in the Italian-American community in Milwaukee and someone who everyone wanted to be around.

Mary will be remembered for her sense of humor, fierce loyalty, and unparalleled dedication to family.

The Caminiti family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to caregivers, Mechelle, Holly, Kathy, Lori, Shawnee, the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital-Ozaukee and the family and friends who graciously loved and supported Mary and our family.
