Betty Jane Parman (age 91) of East Troy went to be with the Lord on January 31st, 2024 at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc. Her son Dan was with her when she passed. Betty suffered a stroke suddenly on the morning of January 25th while living at Brolen Park in East Troy. Betty was rushed to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and entered hospice on January 26th.
She was a savvy entrepreneur, fierce matriarch, loyal friend and dedicated keeper of stories. A pillar of the community, Betty sat on numerous boards and committees, wrote a column for the local paper and was always stopped for a chat almost everywhere she went in the community. Many people found their home through Main Street Realty, a business Betty co-owned with Ken Pluess. The building that housed Main Street Realty remains a fixture of the East Troy Square, and is now occupied by the Square Side Boutique.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Parman, parents EJ (Bob) and Millie Billings, daughter Nancy Marino and grandson Joel Marino. She is survived by Dan (Beth) Parman, son-in-law Lou Marino, grandchildren Emily (Wayne) Stam, Dominick (Hillary) Marino, Ben Parman and Brian (Linda) Joyce, and great-grandchildren Mia, Coen, Joanna and Audra Marino and EJ Stam. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, June 30 at The Venue in East Troy from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM.
