Robert E. Romant "Robb Edwards"
April 2, 1945 - June 26, 2024

Robert E. Romant, “Robb Edwards”, 79, signed off for the last time on June 26th, 2024, peacefully and surrounded by his loving family. As the former Milwaukee Brewers Public Address Announcer and long-time host on WTMJ radio, Bob’s resonant voice and warm personality made him a cherished figure in Milwaukee.

Born in Chicago on April 2, 1945, Bob was captivated by music and baseball from an early age. His family moved to Milwaukee where he attended Pius High School, excelled in track, and eventually met the love of his life, Vicki Lynn Fischer. Married in 1967, Bob and Vicki were blessed with two sons. Ultimately combining his passions for music, radio and baseball as Robb Edwards, he had a legendary career over the airwaves, at County Stadium and at Miller Park. Bob was the ultimate pro, and his booming voice was familiar to multiple generations. Behind the scenes it was his kindness, humor, and penchant for helping others in the industry that made him beloved. All in all, Bob would say he had hit a home run in life.

Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He was dedicated to and is survived by his wife Vicki; proud father of Bradd Romant and Jay (Stacy) Romant; and doting grandfather “Opie” of Olivia (Cam) Kelly, Emma, Ava, Ruby and Coco Romant. Cherished brother-in-law of Robb (Mary Pat Cupertino) Fischer.  Dear big brother of Denise (Gene), Mark (Janet), David (Sandra), Marcy (Jack), Michele (Michael), Robin (Daniel), Kimberley (Alan), Cameron and Tracy. Further survived by nieces, nephews and good friends. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Florence, and mother- and father-in-law, Beverly and Ferdinand Fischer.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 10, at 9 a.m. at St. Camillus, East Residence, 10100 W. Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Private inurnment at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Bob's family would like to thank the staff at St. Camillus for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Camillus Foundation.
