Don & Chris…we are saddened to hear the passing of your sister. So glad you visited her last weekend. May you feel peace and our thoughts are with you. Hugs to you both.

Dear Family of Marlis,

My mom, Sharon Chouinard, took the news really hard. Marlis was a salt of the Earth person. She was a special spirit & had a way of working with my dad’s challenging leadership style. She will be greatly missed! It meant a lot to us that she kept in touch over the years & through my dad’s cancer battle of 2019. She & Ed are having a great reunion up in Heaven, we are sure of that!

She spoke often of all of her kids over the years, and though we mostly heard news about you all in conversation, Marlis always felt like family! We even remember when she took the “Wheel of Fortune” game my mom bought for David’s stay in the hospital from appendectomy surgery. She had stories about the good times you all had playing that game which made my mom happy to hear.

Another memory we have is when she would pass some of the girls’ clothes down to my sister & me. We appreciated all her kindness. So glad to have known her. Her smile was so precious! She lived through a lot of joy & adversity. Her positive outlook was palpable & contagious! I feel blessed to have known her & our family’s paths to have crossed!

Please let us know when the Celebration of Life service will take place. Praying you all feel comfort, can find a lasting peace & relief that she is not suffering anymore, and that you find strength in knowing God is in control.

Thank you so much for reaching out to our family after she passed. It meant the world to us. Marlis was greatly loved & will be dearly missed. It brought comfort to speak to our dad’s friends after he passed, & I wish the same comfort & blessings for all of you! Her heart was so big! I looked up to her for how she carried herself and her sweet interactions with people. I hope I can emulate that sweet personality someday even half as good as she did everyday!

Please reach out anytime. We are here for you all if you need anything at all!

Sincerely,
Melissa (Chouinard) McCollum
