(nee Ernst) Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the age of 94. She was born January 13, 1930 in Thiensville, Wisconsin to William and Martha Ernst.
She is survived by her only sibling, her brother David Ernst; Children Dan Boese, Marlene (Chuck) Smith, Jeff (Brenda) Boese, and Mark (Aysha) Boese.
Proud grandma of Drew(Rachel) Boese, Summer (David) Rains , Jared (Alyssa) Smith, Carly (Aaron) Smith, Michaela Smith, Jordan (Taylor) Smith, Elizabeth Boese, Jeffrey (Anna) Boese, Victoria Boese, Julianna (Peter) Clausen, Rebecca (Roger) Shoff, and Jeremiah Boese. Extremely proud “Baby Grandma” (great grandma) of Micaiah Rains, Silas Rains, Eden Rains, Colsen Smith, Luca Smith, Delilah Boese, and another soon to arrive daughter of Drew and Rachel Boese. Cherished “Aunt Myrt” of Andrea (Ed) Fitzgerald, and Claudine (Karl) Scheife. Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Virgil and her oldest son Tom Boese.
Myrtle was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. She taught a ladies Bible class for many years. In her final months, her Bible became very dear to her. If things were questioned or controversial, she had the same answer…”Just read your Bible.”
Myrtle worked by her husband’s side in their own cleaning business for many years. She loved feeding the birds outside of her kitchen window and taking care of her fish in the family room. Myrtle was very content at home. A bit surprising to her family, she took on a late-in-life interest in watching the Brewers and Bucks games.
Her children and grandchildren loved her little German phrases that she would say at just the right time…some very funny, some still being repeated by the next generation.
She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 4 from 3:30PM until time of Memorial Service 5PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home – Menomonee Falls; N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. She will be laid to rest next to Virgil at Union Cemetery in Menomonee Falls.
