Robert (Rob) Walter Zeck, 56, of Watertown, WI, after battling a lifetime with severe asthma, passed away peacefully from complications of that condition at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI on November 9th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born November 9th, 1968 in Waukesha, WI he was the son of the late Michael Zeck and Margaret Holland, Rob lived an active and full life filled with family, traveling and of course, music.
Rob was proud to have grown up in Dousman, WI, attending Dousman Elementary. Moving to Oconomowoc in his early teens where he graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1986. After high school he moved to Wausau to attend broadcasting school.
Rob was blessed with three beautiful children: Randi, Dylan and Michaela. He had so much pride in being a father and is leaving behind an amazing legacy with them.
At the time of his passing, Rob worked for the family business at BC Holland, Inc. as an Operations Manager. Rob attended his last concert in Boston on October 5th, seeing Tedeschi Trucks Band, after a road trip vacation with his family to the East Coast. There is nothing he loved more than traveling, going to concerts and spending time with his loved ones.
Preceded in death by his Grandparents: Walter & Verna Zeck, Robert & Violet Haroldson & Chester & Ruelle Holland.
Rob is survived by his mother & stepfather Margaret & Brian Holland. His 2nd wife Lynn Zeck. Life partner Kathleen Kelly. Fiercely intelligent, witty and always ready for a debate, Rob impacted so many people during his life. He loved all things sports since he was very young and consumed as many sporting events as possible, while also being a longtime commissioner of a fantasy football league. Music and having a good time were his passions and when he was truly most happy. He spread that passion by traveling the country to attend shows, dance, make friends and be the life of his own party. There is no way to count the number of concerts Rob attended in his lifetime, but imagine it is in the thousands. Rob never let his life be boring. He was a go getter at heart and did everything to enjoy his life to the fullest.
Rob would ask all his friends and family to celebrate his life by chilling out and listening to their favorite song. Who knows? It may also be one of his.
A visitation will be held at Schmidt & Bartelt 121 S. Cross St. Oconomowoc, WI on Saturday, November 16th from 10am – 2pm with a sharing of memories to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Tunes for Tots, a charity organized by one of his favorite bands: Widespread Panic. Or attend a concert or sporting event on Rob’s behalf. Anyone attending the visitation is encouraged to wear their favorite concert shirt. Rob would appreciate this much more than a formal affair.
