Steven "Steve" G. Ohrmundt
January 26, 1946 - January 30, 2025

Steven “Steve” Gene Ohrmundt, beloved husband and father, passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 79.

Steve was a devoted husband to Florence “Tiny” (nee Stahl) for 58 years, loving father to sons Jamie and Jason, and proud grandfather to granddaughter Kerstin Ohrmundt.  Also left to cherish his memory are many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews, and his loyal dog Baby.

In 1962, Steve went on a blind date in Mukwonago, WI.  This is when he met Tiny and where their love story began. They married in 1966 and from their wedding kept a $1 bill which they tore in half, making a pact to keep each of their halves in safe keeping until death.  Although tattered and torn from years of being tucked away in his wallet, Steve made good on his promise.  He will carry his half of that very special $1 bill to the heavens as their love for each other transcends beyond this earthly life.

A diligent man, Steve spent his working years as a welder for the gas pipeline including Arby Construction, S&Z, and the Northern Pipeline.

Steve enjoyed working on old cars in his younger years and riding his motorcycle. He and Tiny rode many miles through the country while relishing the charm of all the small towns along the way. Tiny recalls the joy of riding in groups of 30 or more. Often times single bikers would join their group when they crossed paths, adding to the fun and excitement of their adventures.

Appreciating the value of friendship, Steve always made time to “shoot the breeze” over morning coffee or while sharing a cold beer with his buddies, both old and new. He cherished these “get togethers”, and most of all the precious time spent with his family.

In addition to cheering on the Packers from the comfort of his reclining head coach chair, Steve took pleasure in doing yard work. Today, and standing very tall, are all the lilac bushes he planted along the backyard fencing long ago.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Irene (nee Gallof) Ohrmundt, dear daughter Gina Lyn Ohrmundt, and sisters Janice Hilt and Gloria Peterson.

Steve will be deeply missed, especially by his wife, sons, granddaughter, and dog Baby.

Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of Memorial Service at 1PM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Mukwonago (930 Main Street).

"Go rest high on that mountain 'cause son your work on earth is done

Go to heaven a-shoutin' love for the Father and the Son"
