I worked with Tom for years at Channel 6. He trained me on the ACR machine (commercial playback machine) my second day at work back in May of 1990. He was an excellent teacher and he also loved hearing about new things that were happening in the field of electronics.
The one thing we jokingly discussed at work on occasion was putting quarters in the big water squirt gun at Six Flags in Gurnee, IL., and then using it to squirt passers by in the round rafts on the raft ride. He said he was going to try to do that as often as possible when he retired. I told him that I enjoyed doing the same thing and that he should bring a large sack of quarters with him each time he goes there. I hope he got the chance to operate that squirt gun many times and had a lot of fun.
I am now only a little over a year from retirement, and am looking forward to going to Six Flags just to put lots of quarters in that big squirt gun and squirt the raft riders with water.
Good by Tom. You were a good friend at work.
