Jane was one of my favorite, and final professors in Nursing School at UWM in 1983. She oversaw our cardiology clinical at St. Luke’s Aurora, which was the spark for my love of cardiology. I loved her intellect, balanced with being an outstanding teacher and caring individual. My condolences to Jane’s family.

Jane, my extraordinary research mentor at CMH, who ignited in me a passion to pursue a PhD in nursing. I marveled at her unwavering advocacy for patients' rights at our hospital IRB and her dedication to mentoring staff on the vital importance of evidence-based practice methods. I felt truly privileged to have her as my initial advisor when I was accepted into the doctoral program at UWM. Her mentorship was instrumental in shaping my doctoral journey, from collecting data for her study to teaching me robust methodological approaches and guiding me through statistical analyses. Serving on my dissertation committee brought our relationship full circle. I will cherish the memories of our time spent at her serene "crappy cottage" on Cedar Lake, pouring over study data; following her as she trailblazed the role of a nurse researcher in systems that often underestimated the value of her groundbreaking work; and her sage advice when I hesitated to submit a publication or grant proposal. A visionary nurse, advisor, teacher, mentor, researcher, colleague, and above all, an exceptional human being. Her legacy will inspire countless lives. Dear Dr. Jane Leske, your tireless efforts have paved the way for us to continue your remarkable work. We will carry your torch forward. My condolences to Mike and her beautiful family.
Rest in Peace Jane Stover Leske
