Aleta Howden, age 76, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 4th. She was born on May 29, 1948 to the late Ed and Ellen Hollatz. Aleta had a life full of adventures, love, laughter, and tears, and lived in many places, but she was so happy to be closer to much of her family after moving back to the Oconomowoc area to help her parents in their later years. She reconnected with Sam Howden, and they were married for 14 happy years until his passing at the end of December. Aleta loved working in real estate, helping her brother at his shop, and gardening, but, most of all, she cherished spending time with friends and family.
Aleta touched so many lives, and will be deeply missed by her son, Tim (Nicole) Meyer, brothers Ken (Shelly) Hollatz, and Dennis (Vickie) Hollatz, grandchildren, Angellica (Ryan) Gutzdorf, Jerry Winter, Logan (Danni) Meyer, Roberta Baldwin, and Charles Dunham Jr., great grandchildren Jazzi, Gunnar, Gigi, and Kayden, and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends that she loved so dearly.
Aleta was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Howden, her parents, Ed and Ellen Hollatz, her daughter, Gina Dunham, and her first husband, Gerald Bergers.
Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, N50 W35181 Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc, on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A private family burial will take place afterwards at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Memorials to the church are appreciated.
