Joan Marie Blackwell Seeger
May 14, 1929 - May 16, 2025
        

Joan Seeger was born in Milwaukee and lived most of her childhood in Wauwatosa, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward John Blackwell and Marie Isabelle Maney Blackwell, and her husband, John Roland Sherer Seeger. Her surviving relatives are her son, Jeffrey John Seeger (Melanie Heflin Seeger), daughter, Jill Woodman Seeger, and grandchildren, Reagan Elliot Seeger (Caitlin) and Christina Marie Seeger Pappu (Abhishek), great grandchildren, Max Seeger and Zayn Pappu. 

Joan attended Lake Forest College in Illinois.  She married Jack Seeger in 1952.  She and Jack lived in Lake Bluff where Jack had a job as corporate attorney with Outboard Marine Corp. Later Joan got her associate nursing degree and was licensed as an RN in 1974.  She worked at St. Michael’s Hospital in Milwaukee.   She and Jack lived in Mequon for 30 years while Jack worked as OMC ‘s division manager of Evinrude Motors in Milwaukee and later became legal counsel for the Milwaukee School of Engineering, retiring in 1990. 

They spent retirement years traveling to various national parks, Quebec, Greece, etc.  She and Jack spent winters in Sarasota, FL for many of those retirement years.  Joan was quite active for most of her life, playing tennis and golf.  After her husband died, Joan moved into the New Castle Place retirement facility, where she engaged in most of the activities and entertainment with friends she made there.  She loved to sing in the chapel choir.  Joan was a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church and sang in the choir there also.  She had an outgoing, enthusiasm for all that she was involved in.  She had a wonderful, long life and will be missed by all who knew her.
