LaVonne Mae Dethloff
December 10, 1939 - May 30, 2025

LaVonne Mae Dethloff passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 85, at home surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer.

Born in Owen, WI on December 10, 1939, to Edna and Arnold Hubert, LaVonne lived above a cheese factory before moving to Milwaukee where she attended Juneau High School. She then attended 2 years at UW-Milwaukee where she met her soon to be husband, Earl, in a history class.

LaVonne and Earl were wed in 1961 and immediately started a family in Milwaukee. She spent her time raising their four children and supporting Earl with his business venture, A to Z Rentals until they sold it and retired in 1991. When time allowed, they enjoyed traveling to Europe, the Holy Lands and within the United States. LaVonne enjoyed spending time with her many treasured high school friends whom she kept close to for over 65 years.

Earl and LaVonne began snow-birding in Wildwood, FL in 1986 where she enjoyed golfing, playing cards and line dancing with friends in Continental Country Club. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her 10 grandchildren. She loved watching them play soccer, basketball, golf or perform with their instruments and keeping up with their active lives. She treasured times when the entire family was able to gather together.

A few years after Earl passed away in 2011, LaVonne moved back to Wisconsin full time to be closer to family and friends and eventually moved into a retirement condo in Sussex, WI. Here, she met another circle of friends and enjoyed playing cards, going to lunch and "garage time".

LaVonne is preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and is survived by her 4 children, Mike (Amy), Pam Joel, Steve (Vivian) and Brad and 10 grandchildren, Alexandra, Brandon, Kyle, Amanda, Kevin, Eric, Connor, Sam, Adam and Aaron and many friends, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society (LLS) or to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

A private celebration of life will be held for family and close friends.

Rest in peace LaVonne, loving wife, mom, grandmother and friend!

For those that will be coming to the Funeral Home, there is construction on Menomonee Ave. at our main entrance so there are two other entrances that you can access to get into our parking lot. They are off of Shady Lane on the east side of the building or on Town Hall Rd. on the southwest side of the building.
