Ray met Shirley whom he lovingly referred to as “Dolly” through his sister Laura. They were married on May 28, 1960, sharing a fun and beautiful life together. She began her career at Wisconsin Bell and later worked at Save-U, grocery store in Menomonee Falls. All the while dedicating time and care into cooking, cleaning, and family gatherings.
A woman of deep faith and compassion, Shirley gave generously of her time. She volunteered at St. Anthonys in Menomonee Falls with the Christian Women’s group as a secretary, read to children at St. Bernadette’s in Milwaukee, and, alongside Ray, delivered meals through Meals on Wheels.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, with New Year’s Eve holding a special place in her heart. Known for her wisdom and kindness, Shirley offered thoughtful advice, always encouraging others to give the benefit of the doubt and to live with faith and forgiveness. She was a loving aunt and a dear friend to many.
Her legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in all who knew her.
