Jeffery Brae Harris, 69, of Mequon, WI passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, with his beloved family at his side.

Jeff was a husband, father, brother and friend whose warmth, kindness, generosity and love of life touched everyone who knew him.  He was married to his wife, Patricia (Patti), for over 46 years — a partnership rooted in love, laughter and compassion.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Patricia Harris, their children Kelsie Harris, Devon Harris, his fiancee Kelsey Ruttenberg; Colin Harris, his fiancee Danielle Silverston; Jeff’s brothers, RB Harris and Darren Harris; his sister-in-law Shirley Smith, all of whom brought him endless pride and joy.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Bonwill Harris Jr. and Kathryn May Harris.

Jeff was an avid historian, traveling and sharing countless hours of knowledge and wisdom with family and friends.  He enjoyed running, cycling, bikepacking and competing in triathlons- three of which he completed with the ALS diagnosis.  His love of life included harboring a safe haven for deer, birds and other wildlife around our home, which brought delight to all who visited.  But most of all, his love for his wife, children and family brought him the most happiness.

The family is grateful to the Neurology Staff at Froedtert Hospital, ALS Wisconsin Chapter and Preceptor Hospice for their compassionate care over the past few years.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Jeff’s hometown of Chestertown, Maryland in October 2025.  Details will be posted here to Jeff’s obituary at www.schmidtandbartelt.com when finalized.
