Barbara Baszynski passed away on July 19th, 2025, at the age of 102.

Barbara is survived by her children Beth (Frank) Wisinski, Mary, and Andy (Mary Drost) and grandson, Alex. Also survived by a sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Howard, and two children, Mike and Peggy.

Born and raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She attended Holy Angels high school. She graduated with a B.A. in history from Marquette University and was a member of Theta Phi society. She and Howard married in 1951 and began a family a year later. A few years later they built a house in Brown Deer. When her youngest child started school, she began working part time for various market research companies. In 1970 she began working for the U.S. Census Bureau. She conducted the 10-year annual census as well as numerous special censuses around the country. She retired after 20 years.

Howard and Barbara enjoyed retirement and traveling. In 1976 she and Howard bought Barbara’s family home in Wauwatosa and remodeled it. They are the 3rd generation to live in the home which was built in 1896. The Brooks family are a Wauwatosa Pioneer Family. Barbara was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Annis Avery Hill Chapter. Barbara also enjoyed reading British mystery books. She has probably read a great majority of the books in the Wauwatosa Library!
