Of East Troy, passed away on July 23, 2025 at the age of 87.

Loving husband of Joyce for 60 years, father of Keith (Gail), Kim (Steve) Prince and grandfather to Susan, Jonathon & Jennifer. Further survived by brother-in-laws Ronald Zake, John (Donna) Grabowski, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Born to Marion & Anna Rishel on November 25,1937 in Iron Mountain, Michigan.  Then later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin at age 7.

Preceded in death by his parents Marion & Anna Rishel, siblings Olyve (Paul) Welden, George (Liz), Chuck (Jane), Phyllis (Bernie) Tait, Virginia (Marvin) Nolte and Robert (Konny) as well as other relatives.

Russell was a long-term employee of Sears and Aluma-Tech.

He loved the yearly deer hunting trips, attending Packer games, gardening as well as playing cards.

Russ & Joyce met at a dance class at the YMCA, married 3 years later and then eventually built a home and moved to East Troy, where they have lived for over 50 years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St. Mukwonago) from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 NOON.
